Three 27 inch monitors? Oh my.
I would like to know the answer for this as well because I can't pick between the 2.

I'd normally go for the LG monitor because of their reputation over AOC but that's not a reason to get one.

ive just found out that the bezel on the LG is actually 11mm when they advertised it was 1.2. also the pic on the site and the box says it is 1.2mm but when you open it and turn it on it is actually 11mm. this has just changed my view and i might go for the AOC.

They use the same panel (with the misleading 'invisible bezel' marketing attached). The AOC is better configured by default with respect to colours and also offers superior and more flexible grey to grey acceleration. It's the better choice really.

im also looking at these screens, there is also an acer one that is cheaper, with a flat stand etc, a lot of screens using this panel huh

but what has me confused is i read a review on the LG and it said 16ms response in their test, and the AOC got around 5ms, now maybe they were just tested very different im not sure unless AOC is doing something different to them?

i guess they can add extra electronics overdrive etc? ive seen conflicting reviews about the colors too but its the response time i mostly care about

if you can point me at any reviews i might of missed or extra info it be great thanks ><

The panel is the same indeed but AOC have done a better job with their electronics and setup. I wouldn't look too much into the actual figures as those are difficult to reliably measure and don't often reflect a good range of pixel transitions.

I've had a little go with the LG myself and I'm currently reviewing the AOC. In practice the LG behaves like the AOC with its overdrive set to 'weak' (or some way between 'weak' and 'medium'). Set to 'medium' the AOC offers superior pixel responsiveness. The AOC offers a very nicely balanced image out of the box with a nice rich look - excellent white point and colour balance also seems very easy to achieve with pretty much no adjustment. The LGs image seems to take a bit more taming, at least the one I was testing did. The image just didn't quite have the same bite as the AOC.

Just got myself the AOC & can recommend it for those who dont wish to go to 1440p but still want a bigger screen.

Hit the jackpot again with no dead stuck pixels & although the feel is plastic the look is actually pleasing on the eye for me.

Aging eyesight & not seeing the need to upgrade graphics card beyond a GTX580 yet was a factor in my decision to go from 24 to 27 without a higher res. Not tried anything but PC on it yet but so far it matches the Dell 24 it is replacing without the need to struggle with smaller text.

yeh 1440p doesnt interest me, i have a TN screen for desktop right now and my laptop but i want a screen that looks nice i can do a bit of LoL on and use my cam, text size on flash chats is important so im not always squinting ><

sounds like you got a nice screen, whats the glass fit like? ive not seen that mentioned in the reviews, and i should think thats kind of important, some cheaper screens have gaps and stuff where dirt can get hehe

thanks PCM2 for your insight, is the review you are doing up soon or maybe its one ive read already :)

To clarify in case this confuses anybody the AOC does not have a glass cover over the screen but has a matte screen surface. To answer your question it fits very nicely. The whole of the front of the screen (with the exception of the 2mm thick outer bezel component and the 'lip' at the bottom) is completely flush and its all nicely constructed.

And the review isn't up yet but will be up in time for Christmas. Unless I drink too much mulled wine in the meantime. :D

Does anyone know if the AOC plays nice with consoles (more specifically an xbox 360)?

I wanted to get one but read somewhere else about one guy that had an issue with random blue vertical lines appearing every 30 secs when using his console. I was just wondering if that's a one off or a consistent issue.

I was considering the LG but it appears the colours are better on the AOC and nearly every video i've seen of the LG there always appears to be a significant amount of backlight bleed in the lower corners mainly in the left.
