Hi, I have had this monitor for a few months, and just lately I have had a problem with a strange mark, that appears to be glowing from the back of the monitor screen. I am no expert on monitors and not sure if this is a fault with the monitor. I never had this when I first bought the monitor, and it only appears on white or light backgrounds. Can anyone tell me from the photos provided what it might be? I am using a display port cable to connect, not sure if that would make a difference? Any help greatly appreciated ;)

This shows the mark on the bottom right as you face it.

Here is a closer look at the mark.

This one is of the screen in desktop and on a darker background, note the mark is not there.

Hope it is not a fault with the monitor and can be rectified, as I love it, but this is bugging the life out of me and keeps getting my attention all the time

Have you tried an alternative cable?

I've been having a similar issue with my 29" LG expect its verticle. Not really bothered doing anything about it as its not annoying me - I also don't have the time to investigate, but it remains regardless of the cable I use.

Not as yet, I will try it though once I find my dvi cable.

Make sure its a DVI-D DL as you'll not get a usable resolution!

I thought just DVI-D would be good enough, and that DVI-D-DL was not necessary? I did just try DVI-D and the screen was just black, with the occasional flicker to desktop  is this to be expected using a DVI-D with this monitor, or is there another potential fault?

Edit: Just tried a HDMI cable and the mark is still there....Guess this will be going back, as it annoying me far too much and taking my pleasure away from what was/is a really nice monitor otherwise :(

Just use the cable that comes in the box.

Does look like a screen issue not a cable one though.

Yep it is. Just to make sure, I hooked up my old 1080p and that was fine. Gonna sort out a RMA for this AOC.

What ever you need, its needs to be Duel Link. If its not DL/DP, it'll not give you the full 2560*1080 res!

Did not matter what res it was in the end, seems it was there using the HDMI cable too. I think there must be another fault with the monitor too, as it does not show anything with a standard DVI cable, just a black screen...:(

That means the cable isn't dual link...I had the same thing until I used the cable in the box.

Strange their website say's nothing about needing or using a Dual Link. I must confess the cable that came with the monitor is in the box still, up in the loft..:o. Anyway, have arranged for the jungle to send me a new one, and is coming on weds!! :)

The DVI cable I was using was not a Dual link, only a single link as it had the middle pins missing, though I was under the impression you could use a SL DVI with this monitor!? Does that mean there is a dual link in the box then?
