Hello all. Im currently about to purchase the AOC U3477PQU but I never owned any AOC monitors before so I would like to know what are they like for returns, just incase the worse happens.

From my understanding is they allow 5 dead pixels before a return? Which is slightly disappointing.

What are they like for IPS glow?

What are AOC like in general?

I'm not familiar with their pixel policy exactly, but you don't buy direct from AOC obviously, you'd buy from a reseller like OCUK, and I find it hard to believe they would deny you an RMA if you had 5 pixels out in the middle of your screen! Either way, you can return any monitor you're not happy with, that's your right. It just may be that you have to pay for the courier if the 'fault' you find with it isn't covered. As for IPS glow, they will use LG panels (as many manufactures do), so are just as prone to IPS glow as others... it's a bit of a lottery really, and same applies to backlight bleed. Again though, if you get one that's really bad you'll likely be able to RMA it, but either way you can always return any product you're not happy with within 14 days, no questions asked.

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease

...... except bleeding and such things may appear all of a sudden after few months of "eased use". In which case, you're screwed. That's surely not the most common scenario, normally a defective panel will have problems almost out of the box, give it a day or two, but you know.....

Yes, well, in the unlikely event of that happening it doesn't matter what monitor you have. Unless it's REALLY REALLY bad, in which case any warranty should cover it, although some manufacturers are easier to deal with than others... but the shop (online or otherwise) you've bought it from will always be your first call anyway, so keep that in mind.

Check out my thread on this forum, long story short never got a response from AOC support despite requesting it twice, got a refund through retailer in the end (because it was still within 1 year), like I said maybe its better to call them up, just for future reference
