I have just reinstalled windows XP on a friend’s computer, he uses AOL as his ISP, and then the fun (trouble) started.

We put in AOL 9 and it couldn’t find the router/modem after a bit of looking on the net I found that you had to put in your phone number in the DUN in the “dailbb” which I did now the computer will connect using the DUN/Dailbb setup, now here the thing he has to use the DUN to dial in then once this is connected start AOL9 and it signs on no problems.

Is there anyone out there, who can tell me how to get the DUN to work with AOL9/VR now upgraded to AOL9 VR?:confused::confused:

As this would save having to sign in twice!

This any help :- http://help.aol.co.uk/broadband/problems-installing-the-modem-router/article/20060921102709990004

My dads using the router on AOL 9, you have to go into the routers settings page and enter its username/password to get that connected first (you get those from AOL as they are different to the screename/password you sign on with through the software, so if they havn't got those then they'll need to phone AOL up to get them), my dads username was his phone number @diallbb, and his password was some random letters/numbers, then once that gets connected you just tell the AOL 9 software to use the router when you sign on, but you dont have to really, as once you get the router connected the internet is on anyway, so you can just use IE instead if you want. :)

Actually though, his router should still be connected anyway if you have just done a reinstall, so sounds like its just getting the AOL 9 software to use it again.
