AOL free wireless router

If one was to get AOL with a free wireless router, would one still have to use AOL's annoying browser? :mad: I dont think you would need to, but then again if they ship it with their own firmware, who knows! :confused:

Any help would be appriciated. Thanks
 
I am not on AOL but bought a Netgear DG834G off a guy who got it off AOL for free when signing upto the Premium package.
It comes in an AOL box but thats about it, works fine on everything including firefox etc.
 
u didnt need to use the aol browser in the first place, if you had set up a connection, you could you internet explorer or firefox or what ever you wanna use. i spose its to late to find that out now lol :p
 
Thats right, im not using any AOL software here on the Voyager 105 modem, im expecting my free router to come as ive just regraded to the 2mb Gold service which gives you a one. :cool:

I use Outlook for me e-mails and i.e for me browsing, i just set up my own connection. :)

Im already 100% software free using the voyager modem, so i just can't be arsed uninstalling my modem just to use the router. :D

Im a lazy git. :p

Mind you i might do as i heard if i need to reinstall Windows all i need to do is plug the router back in and voila nets on, thats handy. :D
