I'm using AOL, because I can't be bothered to change my email address. The service on the new network (which I think is Carphone Warehouse) is poor and I might move now...but I digress.
I no longer use the standard AOL software for connection. It broke somehow, unsurprisingly, and I couldn't be bothered to reinstall it again. So I use an alternative way that allows me to use AOL as if it was a proper ISP, i.e. one that provides me with a link to the net and no crap.
After looking about online, I created a dialup networking connection with a phone number of 0,38. This works and means that I can block the myriad of AOL stuff from running, but how does it work?
Also...I end up with 3 connected network connections, showing different amounts of data transferred. What are they?
