AOL MAC code retrieval

I know its not an enviable task getting this but I'm stuck with doing it. I'm sure by law they are supposed to just give it to me right away over the phone but they say they have 48 hours and are doing it via e-mail.

Am I right and they're just being awkward or are they right?

they have 5 working days to give it to you.

I got mine within 24 hours, by e-mail

Tiscali gave my fiancee our MAC code over the phone straight away, no waiting. Thank god!

I asked for it straight away and they refused, I hate AOhell.

I phoned at about 3 o'clock and I still haven't got the e-mail, I'm hoping it comes tomorrow. I've read and heard the stories of the problems people have had and I do not have the patience to deal with them.

Yeah, they wouldn't give me mine over the phone either. Also had some idiot harping on that AOL would never do it, despite the fact that I had both pipex and BT give it straight to me....

AOL or any ISP can legally take upto 5 working days to provide the MAC if they take longer then they are breaking the OFCOM regulation of GC22.

Depending on the level of access AOL give to there agents they may not be able to provide the MAC stright away as they have to generate the MAC on BT systems and AOL might not provide access directly into them.
