Hi, as the title suggested, my mate has AOL at his place, and he was just wondering if it was possible to install AOL at his girlfriends house, and log in to the full service remotely from there.

Would it be possible, or would it be strictly against any AOL rules?

Cheers for any help.

So she has internet access and he wants to then install AOL on her PC and log on at her house?

I did a few years back but not sure now as might have changed. You can get AOL software without their connection for £3 a month is call "Bring your own BB" but it isnt on their website you have to give 'em a bell

Unless you mean something else

a lot of isp's stop people from doing that by linking your account to your landline number. I'd be surprised if it was possible to be honest.

Hmmm... thanks for the replies so far.

Rather awkwardly, He is on 56k (i know, i know) and she is on ntl broadband.

What sort of thing do you get with the £3 BYOA option?, do you get the whole thing - chatrooms etc, or is it limited.

Would the rest of the pc suffer from having AOL crap shoved onto it?

If he's on dial up then yes it's possible, as long as it's unlimited dial up.

I used to do it all the time, would connect via the laptop where ever i was - even in spain once.

Only thing is it would be blocking up the girlfriends phone line, as it would still be dial up.

Edit: she'd also have to have a dial up modem
