basically ive been upgraded on the 22nd of june but as yet i havnt noticed any speed increase at all, infact its went down a bit from last thursday.
i know there is a training period but surely i should be getting some sort of speed increase by now.
ive looked up my stats but havnt got a clue as to what they mean

even aol system information has my session speed at 629532 bps but still no more speed for me ?

just call them. maybe it wasnt for a speed upgrade just an exchange upgrade to ready yourself for the new upgrades later. i'm getting mine in july sometime to 8mbit x.x

no just the one on adslguide which gave me -
Downstream 1,816.5 Kbps ( = 1.8 Mbps )
Upstream 364.1 Kbps ( = 0.4 Mbps )

nope got the email confirming the upgrade to 8meg.
my internet connection is showing that im connected at 8.2 meg?

then it'll prolly be due to the fact its MAXDSL, with it the speeds seem to vary a lot, i know several people on MAXDSL who should be at 8mbit but only get like 4-5mbit connections. it also is very bad for gaming for some reason raises ping by a fair bit.

Both AOL (which would be eliminated by the BT Speedtest) and BT (which wouldn't) have some throttling of sorts in place, which would slow your connection down.

yea but my speeds are slower now than before it was upgraded and its showing im connected at 8.2 but yet my line speed has decreased.
even aol system information has me connected at 6.2 meg but my d/ls are at 1.8 meg

I'm in exactly the same position mate. I was upgraded over a month ago and have yet to see a stable download speed. The best i got was 499kbs using the AOL software (download speeds seem to be faster on AOL than IE or FF)

Speed tests also give me less than 2 meg. I'm hoping that it is sorted out soon because i am too syncing at over 7meg and have yet to see anywhere near that speed.

just uploaded a file at 44kbps but my d/l speed is still the same?
cant figure this out at all my u/l speed has increased but my d/l is still the same

It's a problem with AOL afaik. Im considering migrating to BT BB instead, but am a little wiery as to whether i'll get the same problem. :o

Just wait a few weeks until everyone has been upgraded. Then the speeds should get faster. :)

Or it could be a problem with BTw, as I've already said (and suggested ways of determining if it's one or the other).
Your upload speed isn't connected to it, incidentally.

but am a little wiery as to whether i'll get the same problem. :o

If it is BTw, you will.

when not connected to aol software im pulling about 5 meg and when im connected to aol im getting a steady 7.5 meg when downloading a 100mb test file so for me as well the aol software seems to be quicker

yea the zen test file.
just done it again and its now at 2.77 mb per sec its doing the 100mb test file in 33 seconds.

Takes me about 3 mins going around 650kbs.

Surely is isn't holding at that speed? That speed is way above 8 meg :o

done it again and its still the same but drops to around 7.5meg when d/ling through ie or ff.
i would doubt it will stay at that though as it way way above what i should be getting.
still i wouldnt mind if it would
