Does anyone know if and how....you can keep aol signed in...what i mean is..its broadband which is connected al the time so why do you have to sign in !....

is there a way of not using the aol program and just going into say internet explorer without having to sign in to anything...?

im sure there is a way you can confgure the connection somehow , iom sure someone knows how to if there is a way

thanks

What sort of ADSL modem do you have? If it's a simple USB type then you probably will have to sign in every time but if it's part of an ethernet router then you shouldn't need to. If you do have the former it's really worth ditching it for the latter as a router provides much better security against the outside world. Caveat: these are general points as I know nothing about the detail of AOL broadband.

As Snapshot says you can tell a router to log in automatically (mine has a seperate account, wonder if it gets email :p ) but you shouldn't have to use the software anyway. Are you using the latest version and have downloaded the updates?

My gf has AOL setup through her router and that is constantly on. I'm guessing you don't have a router and you have a modem thats why you say you have to "sign on". You can get some modems to act as routers to store the internet account details.
