Hello,

Users of our websites who are on AOL are not recieving email from us. It seems AOL have decided to add our ip to their spam blacklist.

I've emailed them - no reply. Called them - got through to some foreigner who hung up. Asked for supervisor - promised a call back - no call back recieved.

Now i can see why people hate these crooks :o

Anyone got any other suggestions or such experiences

Jonno.

When we phoned up we had a very positive professional response.

Which part of AOL are you calling?

This is the response received from AOL

This is due to the fact that there is no valid PTR (reverse DNS) record for that IP. Please can you arrange for this to be set up and then contact me so that we can test again?

I must admit, when I've had the need to ring the AOL Postmaster phone number in the US I've spoken to a decent person who sorted things out for me.

If you examine your SMTP logs, you should find an HTTP link included in the SMTP messages as AOL reject your message. That will give you some clue as to why you've been blacklisted. The most common I've seen is the lack of RDNS (as per Jon's post).
