Looks like a Talktalk LLU line thats all.

that im syncing at 4mbs but only downloading at 2 mbs??

done a tweak with dmt tool and now syncing at 5mbs and same download rate :confused:

nothing weird about it at all. i can only assume you're new to adsl max? because download speeds and sync speeds rarely go hand in hand these days......

I do apologise for being a tad sarcastic, Talktalk is notorious for backhaul contention at the moment on LLU lines.

Also the various speedtests that exist - wether it be speedtest.net or thinkbroadband.com/speedtest aren't to be relied on 100%

Try downloading the following file - I would expect about 450KB/s based on your sync speed.

Odds are you aren't on LLU, but are in fact on IPStream Max and your profile's still set to 2Mbps - you need to run the BT Speedtest to confirm that, and contact AOL to get it changed..

that appears to be the case, im still within my 10 day activation period for max so i should get put on the 5mbit profile if there is one?

Im impressed with 250kb/s, took 1 hour 15 mins to download 700mb, which is pretty awesome tbh.

Glad your pleased, you forgot to mention the 10 day training in your initial post, then we would have known straight away it was DSL-Max.

Nice to see your happy with your speed, after 10 days your IP Profile should go up nicely as will your download speeds.

You see my point now about Speedtest websites also?

well an update still on 2mbps profile however bit torrent seems limited to 30kb/s no matter how many seeds i connect to.....grrr
