I have been with aol for donkeys years,and apart from there pathetic 'support' have not really had any problems with them.Now,partly because of cost,and partly because of the 1 month contracts,I am thinking of moving over to one of the enta resellers,either UKFSN or ADSL24.Which one is better,or are they all pretty much the same?
I do a fair bit of gaming online,so are there any issues there,such as blocked ports etc? My exchange is not LLu enabled.
My speeds are usually 7 mb up/384 down.Would I see anyimprovement on the upload speed with enta?

Does adsl24 do wireless well? I have one computer wired to a netgear router,and another comp linked wireless.
What about gaming pings?
 
as the equipmet is bt it depends on your line. If at present you have good pings then you will have good pings with adsl24. You do know the types of pakages they off ie up to 8mb 30gb peak & 300gb off peak for 20 quid? I was with adsl24 up until wednesday & found them great & yeah *** 1 months contacts are good but as with all enta supliers the speeds will be no different.

there are no wireless routers offered by adsl24 so you will need to purchase your own, a good netgear or a speedtouch will do (speedtouch 585v6 is recomended by them).

the off peak times you may see your speeds drop to 4 mb but never lower than 2mb, I'll recomend anyone who has no had be/02/sky enabled at their exchange to go enta as support is great.

pings for me used to average on a 2mb fixed line 20-30 and when I was on adslmax 30-50 on uk servers. On adsl24 you have the ability to switch interleaving off or change plans. Aynway onto your last question, yes U should see an improvement on your upload if you choose office 45 & if torrenting *** upload speed would be about 60-100kbs :D you also get a more relaxed peak time to start your dl earlier but would it no be better to choose home 60?

Thats all I can offer as advice & adsl24 & other emta suppliers are great :D

I am thinking of the home 30 for £20.Currently I am getting 7mb down/350 kb up with aol but paying nearly £30 for the privelidge,plus the fun of dealing with the Indian support centers when things go wrong!
I already have a netgear 834 router so thats not a problem.
 
Any will do as they are all the same, they all use Enta's network, i went from AOL to UKFSN just over a year ago (when they were getting taken over by craphone whorehouse, and introducing their FUP/Throttling etc...) and ive never looked back, absolutely fantastic service, and the caps are decent enough to, im on the MAX 60 which is £30, gives 60gb peak, and 330gb off peak, and ive never come anywhere near the 60gb peak cap yet, and i download nigh on all the time during peak hrs, and ive never had to call support yet either due to problems etc..., as its worked flawlessly from day 1. :)

They are also excellent for gaming, as they have an Anti-Loss Tool, which reduces the speeds of the pipes at the start of the off peak when everyones downloads kick in, so that your pings aren't affected for your gaming, or you suffer packet loss, its a fantastic tool.

Probably got the same Router here (if you got that from AOL), the DG834G, its a doddle to get setup on Enta., takes about 5 seconds.

Id say definately jump onto Enta, you won't regret it one bit, far and away much better than AOHELL.

Im with Titan-Adsl, cant fault them at all, excellent pings ~12ms onto most uk server boxes

£20 month 30gb peak 300gb off peak, offpeark from 10pm to 8am on home packages, 8-8 on business ones, all weekend off peak as well.

Download at ~750Kbs constantly on my line

Well asked for my MAC from aol today,so lets see if it arrives in the next five days as promised!
Then its off to ADSL24 for me.
 
Dam AOL are such a bunch of *****! Last week I request a MAC code,no problem sir,you will get it within 5 days blah blah blah.Today I phone up,no knowledge of it!Start all over again.
 
Uther, just quote "IPSA" or "Ofcom" and say that you've spoken to them and that you should give me the MAC today. They will most certainly hand it over immediately ;)
