AOL / USB ADSL Modem issue

I've got someones laptop who has AOL 9 installed with a Voyager 105 USB modem. The AOL software can see the modem fine (same as Windows) and is setup to use it, however the modem sits there waiting for an IP and therefore doesn't connect the the web, so cannot login to AOL itself.
The modem status in the sys tray shows the adsl is connected - i.e. 2048/512.

Any ideas? I have removed both the modem and AOL software and reloaded it but no different. I know the modem / account is ok as I can plug it into another system and it picks up right away.

Duke Ive had these problems before, when I used the software 2 years back, what you have to do is open network connections right click on the AOL modem and properties and unistall the AOL's protocoll settings, If I remember correctly, restart and it should install them then your good to go.

I uninstalled all the aol stuff and went through setting up a new connection manually and it seems a lot better than before. When its renewing the ip addy it only takes a couple of seconds! You may want to give it a go.
