Hello

I want to connect to aol broadband without using the software that ive now completely had enough of. Ive read that all I need to do is create a new connection by selecting the following in 'create a new connection'

-connect to the internet

-setup my connection manually

-connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password

-enter isp (aol broadband) name

-enter user name and password

Im using the BT Voyager 105 dsl modem. Having done the above am I right in thinking theyre should be connections both for the modem and the new one I have created for aol broadband that says (WAN miniport PPPOE) underneath it?

I can access the internet this way now without starting the aol software but just need reassuring that its correct and won't lead to any further costs on top of the monthly fee etc. Thanks very much.

Thanks for that. It connects in about 2 seconds now but before it sometimes took about 10 with all them steps 1 to 6 using aol software.

I used to have aol, I hate it soooo much!!(the software that is, never had any prob with the connection)
