Aorus Project X upgrade

HI mrpetrov,

Originally this project was launch to enable customers to upgrade the models with SLI graphics, we have requested information from HQ to see if any opportunity with X3 models.

Will post once we have information.

Thanks, I'm interested in the upgrade programme as I'm not ready to buy a whole new aorus yet. That would be awesome, thanks.

The rather cinematically styled video from aorus on YouTube 're project x (may 2015) does not say anything about it being specifically for sli laptops - so if that is (still), in fact, the case then may I humbly suggest noting this on the video to avoid misleading anyone unintentionally.

Hi mrpetrov,

We have had notification back from HQ, and the programme was designed for the X7 units not X3 - reason being that the motherboard doesn't need replacing to upgrade the GPUs and CPU on the X7 range, but with X3 it would do.

This would mean that the upgrade would cost almost as much as buying the newer generation machine, and therefore not be viable.

We have reviewed the video, and sent feedback to HQ highlighting your suggestion because of course we don't want to mis-lead customers, or potential customers.
