AORUS X5 V7 Release Date?

Ok Atom80, thanks again, will have to assume no news is good news! So onto some desires:
512gb ssd, gtx1080, Intel Core i7-7820HK, 32gb ram. 2560x1440 120hz+ display with thin bezel, thunderbolt, media card reader, hdmi 2.0, no gpu or CPU thermal throttling, OC enabled bios for both overclocking or undervolting, no Aorus logo on trackpad and you have my money.
If I wanted a bling laptop, I'd buy an MSI, Asus or alienware. If people wish to bling their awesome Aorus, there are plenty of stickers and vinyl covering options available. I would much rather own a discrete power house that blows the competition out of the water without shouting about it.

Seems that there is an untapped market here for Gigabyte/ Aorus Atom80. Can you pass the word on please. There are a lot of professionals with good income that still have the gaming habit instilled in them since their youth. They can afford the higher end options if it is well built with a premium feel and don't feel the need to shout about it with excessive branding/logos and flashy lights (RGB backlit keyboard is fine as are chassis lights so long as they can be configured to be off or at least discrete somehow!) I don't see that many such professionals would be entirely happy plonking their bling gaming laptop on the boardroom table for a presentation.
Equally, I travel a lot and would not wish to produce a flashy gaming laptop through airport security in front of business colleagues or customers either but I do get plenty of downtime when I may wish to relax playing a game or two.
Tasteful exterior and top end performance with utility in a well designed durable chassis. The Aorus X7 DT and X5 v6 come close imo, but for the Aorus Eagle on the lid and touchpad logo which kills it for me, you have a discrete case then an unavoidable logo. Gigabyte or Aorus text would be fine, but a sleek appearance AND performance in a portable chassis will do all the marketing you need. Hell, I'd even be happy for an engraved logo as standard but with a cost option for non engraved if offered!

Anyhoo since we have your attention Atom80. Shame about the v7 being what i can only assume months away, I'd expect you to be able to give a date if it was within a month or 2...all manufacturing has lead times and if you're not forecasting 6 months at least then someone needs firing
For all my bluster/bravado in previous posts I'm still on the fence about waiting or even looking at different makes/models. Have money literally burning a hole in my pocket. Other than the headline changes to the v7, what other improvement/changes have been made? I'm reading mixed views on the robustness of the keyboard, that the base is great but the lid/hinges a little flimsy...have these been changed on the v7?
Frankly don't care about Thunderbolt 3..nice QOL i guess but not essential and Kaby Lake would be nice...screen wise it would seem that the v7 pushes on the 4k front but 120hz/5ms is what floats my boat.

Seeing and touching is believing, and although we cannot deny there has been some comments about the rigidity of the keyboards, far more end users who we speak with are happy with the build and feel of this element. The new RGB FUSION keyboard on the X5 and X7 is certainly an improvement on previous generations and we haven't had negative feedback from our customers.

With regards to the revision on the V7 models, processor obviously, and there will be other revisions but we are unable to post them yet, as the deliveries draw closer we will of course make announcements.
With regards to the current range, OcUK have the 120Hz model on This Week Only promotion with £100 discount (until Wednesday, or until stocks last) making them probably best value for this model right now. There is no more V6 stock coming into the UK, once they are gone, they are gone,,,,, and then we wait for V7.

Although there has been an industry wide reported problem re stripping, we haven't had any units returned within the UK. We made a post a while ago to assure end users that if they weren't happy with the panel we would take back and replace panel with another. The visibility of the issue varies from panel to panel, and although all passed quality checks with panel manufacturer (so are within tolerance) we accept that everyone has a different "level" of what is acceptable. Hence us offering the exchange, FOC.
You are correct that the reported problem that has affected all brands using this panel has only been reported on the 17, not the 15.6" version - but as mentioned, of all the 17" versions we have sold into the market, no end users have come back to us reporting this issue and wanting replacement.
So be assured that if you choose the X7 model we will support you to get a unit you are happy with.

Ok, have been racking my brains now why so long to make any announcements and what delights would be worth delaying for post CES, so I'm going to have a stab at calling it:
GTX1080ti?? Perhaps with a hi res display. I know we won't get any info in advance but I'm not aware of anything else it could be except Ryzen but I'm not sure thats gonna be it either!
I guess we can expect some news soon. Today's the day (28th February) we are supposed to find out about the GTX1080Ti release date from Nvidia...
No meetings today, so working from home attire is just fine. And its nearly the weeeeeekend !
