Hi All,

Bought the Aorus X7 V2 two days ago. No sound on the first startup, it says no speakers or headphones are plugged in. So I went on to do the following but none of them worked...

1. Used the built in Drivers Update to download and install the latest/official audio driver
2. Download and installed all Windows updates
3. Disable and then re enable the drivers
4. Full system restore

Tried connecting the laptop to my TV via HDMI, no response when it was plugged into the left port. But it worked with the port on the right, with video and sound.

Also tried plugging in a pair of headphones in the 3.5 jack, no luck either.

Can anyone shed some lights on this? Hopefully just some driver issues, or me not being competent.

Thanks.

Thanks Robbsy.

Yes, it has a similar program. I actually used it to download and install the latest/official driver.

My worst fear is hardware problem...

wow! 2nd RMA, that is painful!

Yes, I've tried downloading the driver from the Aorus website, no luck either.

Will see what Aorus/Overclockers says. Thanks.

Just found another fault, none of the USB ports will charge... plugged in a PS3 controller to charge, it'll lit up for 2 seconds then goes blank... tried all the ports, same response.

OK, it recognise and charge both my tablet and my phone, just not the PS3 controller; my old laptop charges it OK. Strange...

Sent OCUK a message, just need to sit tight until they come back to work tomorrow.

Strange, I got an automated reply (see below). Anyhow, can you log the case now to move things forward?

Hi, I've received my order for the Aorus X7 V2 on 17/7. There was no sound on the first startup, it says no speakers or headphones are plugged in. So I went on to do the following but none of them worked...

1. Used the built in Drivers Update to download and install the latest/official audio driver
2. Download and installed all Windows updates

Also tried plugging in a pair of headphones in the 3.5 jack, no luck either.

Can you advise if there is anything else I can try? Or should I send it back for you to have a look?

Thanks.

Update: Just spoke to Bailey on over the phone to arrange the collection. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon.

Thanks Atom80 and Bailey.

Bailey, this has gone from bad to worse, DPD has sent the laptop back to me at my home address!! Please, can you arrange another pickup asap. Give me a call. Or see if you can arrange the pick up for tomorrow (Thu 24/7) at the same address, I will bring the laptop to work again for the pick up...

While this is not OCUK's fault, I can't say I am happy at all. I am now looking at 2 consecutive weekends without a properly functioning laptop which was paid for a week ago.
