Its the epic showdown!
Would like a new fan for my H50 and one for the case.
Not sure which to get as they seem to be very similar in performance. The CPU being cooled is an Athlon X2 240 @ 3.5 for which the maximum temps reach 38 on the stock fan so its just a matter of which is quietest really. I also don't like the colour of the Viper as it screws up the colour scheme of my PC.

My second query is regarding the side panel fan. My case has a 120mm fan build into the side window which is quite loud and generally unnecessary. I thought about replacing it but I'd rather just have no fan their. However the fan holds the circular mesh filter thing in place so leaving nothing their would just give me a 12cm hole in the side of the case. Can I get a mesh/filter thing which will stay in by itself? Preferable not too intrusive.

Anyways I just wanted to ask you guys your opinions on the matter

I have two Apaches, in a push/pull on my CPU and they're great fans, quiet but still move a good amount of air. I curently have them in the camo colour, but I'm OCD so ordered two black ones instead :D

Yeah I've added it up and it looks good. Threw in a PWM splitter, dont really need one with theses I guess but it means I can get some more life out of my existing fans without the racket they make.

The only drawback with the Apache is the amount of air it shifts... I'm thinking about upgrading my Apaches to Vipers (greater air volume when they're running flat out, better static pressure). Colour scheme isn't great, but it's a huge improvement from the cammo scheme on the Apaches!

Yeah this has got to be for a H50 so needs to shift some air. However I could use a viper for the H50 as it wouldn't be visible behind the rad! Then just a Apache as the case fan! also rounds of my total price nicely at 40 quid! Sounds like a plan

There are exactly the same. The only difference being that the viper is faster (1900rpm top speed as opposed to 1500 of the apache). Id to with the viper

Just this second ordered 2 vipers myself i have the standard h50 and a noc silent 1300rpm fan on my H50 and since i changed my 4870x2 to an artcric accello exetreme or w/e my temps while gaming hit 72C o.O hope thease new fans sort it out.

Using two vipers on a TRUE via the splitter, great little cable, able to speed control both fans simultaneously via the 4 pin pwm cpu fan header. Great fans as well the vipers, shift a good amount of air and even at full speed, the noise isnt as bad as some other 1900/2000 rpm fans ive used.

I think I'll go for one of each. Viper for the CPU and an Apache on the side panel. If I ever upgrade my CPU to a hexacore then I'll pop in another viper and that will be that but untill then one will be just fine. Temps with the stock fan peak at 38 with the stock fan at 600rpm so its the silence not the air-shifting ability I need.
