APB Dead after less than 3 months

I had some fun when playing with friends (then again I do in most multiplayer games), but the horrible weapon system (damage/accuracy/imbalance etc) and cheats ruined all fun after a week or so. Glad I never bought any extra Realtime points.

The customisation of character, clothes, music, cars and symbols was of course awesome and is defintely the high bar that any future mmo's should be aiming for.

But it wasnt released to early, they've been working at it for over five years.

I'll just have to disagree with that, your point that it took over five years means nothing.
Some games take longer, what does that mean? Nothing at all.

Seems like beta's [for MMO's] actually pave the way to whether it will be successful or not.

It was really buggy and laggy - I think they needed a bit more time in beta to be honest... It was unplayable when I played it :(

first Vis Entertainment and now Realtime Worlds :( there goes Dundee's computer games industry, something we were once world leaders at :(

Well i suppose when you can't go outside without galoshes and thermals there's nothing left to do but make games :p

Its always a shame to see an MMO get shut down. I played this during beta and the first month, however it did seem unfinished and players cheating caused problems.

Does anyone have a period for Matrix Online?

That went on for about 4 years.

Wish was a great game, never made it out of beta though :( I rememberdownloading the client, logging on playing for 10 minutes then getting a server wide message that the game had been cancelled and would be closing down in a couple of hours. Those brief couple of hours I got to play only made me want it more :(

Surprised this game died so quick as know a few who play it, and they all really seem to like it, was not my kind of MMO so never tried it.
