APC UPS question (sua5000rmi5u)

We have a few sua5000rmi5u's that need new batteries. Documentation says it needs 2 x RBC55 batteries, but when you look more closely it says you install 3 of them, I'm a little confused - These are common UPS's so I'm hoping someone here can clear it up for me

The APC website says you'll need 2x RBC55s:
