*.ape files

What are these? I have an *.ape file and with a *.bin file and I can't for the life of me figure out how to deal with them.

Can anybody help please?

I think the .ape file is probably a "monkey's lossless audio" file, the .bin could be anything though, possibly a cd/dvd image.

Sorry my first post was a bit crap.

I have an *.ape file and *cue file, I don't know how to deal with the former.

i think this might help. http://www.monkeysaudio.com/download.html You should be able to decode them to whatever format you want. Assuming it actually is an audio file. EDIT: You should be able to play them in winamp or foobar.

It deffo is an Audio file, when I load the *.cue file into Winamp, it starts playing.

However the program from the link doesn't appear to want to deal with *.ape file. It doesn't appear after its selection.

Did you change compress to decompress? There is a little arrow next to it. Then you should be able to add them. It got me stuck for a while too.

It's now converted it into a Microsoft Wave Sound Format. Ok I've tried converting it into a FLAC file but it won't see it as seperate files. I think I'm going to have to write it as an Audio CD and rip that.

Just to add - your link didn't work, but upon searching for a *.cue splitter I found Medieval Cue Splitter, which is freeware.
