still waiting for my mac - a wife friendly Mini 2.54/4gb/320gb model, wanted the i5 but all the problems put me off, anyhow i have ordered iwork and am now looking to get some software for managing my images.

Have Aperture 3 on preorder but i am unsure if i should wait for it to arrive (memory leak issues) or order aperture 2 and photoshop elements 8 now for about the same price as aperture 3........

Nothing wrong with A3, as usual it's being blown well out of proportion because it's an Apple product. I trialed A3 and loved it from the moment I discovered the numerous brushes features, which is a massive time saver. It is a totally different app to A2, and well worth it. My boxed version was dispatched last night, so I look forward to importing and messing with the new RAW engine.

Edit: Corr, it arrived 12hrs after I ordered :D

Aperture 3 is a big leap for performance so i would go for that.

Lightroom 3 is pretty special also.

Give them both a go and see for yourself! :)

I'm using 3 and it seems pretty good so far. Slightly slower than using Picasa, but the extra features make up for it in a big way.

Only thing I am struggling with is a 64bit plugin to export directly to Picasa web albums. There's a commercial one that's only 32bit and works great, but it insists on restarting A3 in 32bit.

You need to wait for plugins to be recoded for 64bit use. A3's Flickr implementation is P.Poor vs the FlickrExport plugin, but atm we're waiting for an update, which could take a while as Apple haven't released various API's to developers.

I've noticed various crashes, and sometimes the contents of my projects are empty. Need to restart Aperture 3 at those moments. It's faster than 2, but certainly needs some fixes.

I've yet to see any issues and it's certainly a fair bit quicker (even on a 32bit system as well). Not a revolutionary update but still good and I still prefer it to lightroom myself..

It's been plain sailing for me too, on my 4GB uMacbook. I used it solidly for 2hrs last night experimenting with the new features and had no problems at all. Just awaiting the FlickrExport plugin to get updated now.

Now I used the flickr option earlier (the one on the menu bar), but for the life of me I can't suss out how to get the public URL of the version I published! Not really a fan of flickr, hence me wanting the picasa web album plugin.
