How do people keep these synced?

At the moment I have all my pictures in various folders I create, I then import the folder into iPhoto (which doesnt copy into its own directory). Is there an easy way I can keep Aperture synced? i.e; if I import some new pics, can I ask Aperture to update rather than remove the entire reference and pull the whole iPhoto library in again?

Thanks :)

why do you use both?, i've tried both, but aperture is a bit overkill for me

why don't you just stick with aperture its better surely? :D

Not sure exactly why you use iPhoto, but myself, I import straight into Aperture and then do all my sorting and 90% of my processing, I then export the good shots to Tiff and import them into PSCS3 for final retouching and resizing.

Im not entirely sure why you are using iPhoto before Aperture, as imo, Aperture is much better for sorting, cataloging and processing.

Yup, tried the beta.. and also im entitled to a free copy of it when it is released... but I couldnt get the hang of it and have spent a lot of time learning Aperture and PSCS2.

Well the thing is that my wife sometimes uses it to easily publish photos to her .mac webspace, or create calendars etc.

I suppose it would mean I have to select photo's from my aperture library. Thank goodness for that integration :)

I duno about you lot but i found aperture slow and over kill for general image stuff, but afaik you cant sync them together, although you could use iphoto to import them then drag the images in last roll to aperture to import again

I'm enjoying the greater immediate control over my images but I do indeed find it a little slow to respond at times. Going to keep my images in it for the moment then move them to iPhoto (by showing Aperture Library) when creating cards n stuff :)

Would be really amazing if they have a dynamic synchronisation between the two libraries.
