I have just got a new Vaio S5XP to replace my faulty S4XP and want to upgrade it to 2gb RAM.
I know it comes with 1x1gb module installed in a slot under the keyboard, but am not sure if this is PC2-3200 or PC2-4200.
I know the system is capable of utilising 2x1gb of PC2-4200 in dual channel and want to know whether I need to buy just one stick (if the existing is 533MHz RAM) or 2 (if I need to replace the existing one).
I'd rather not open up my laptop unless I have to, so I need to know if there is any software out there that will report the speed of my RAM?
I have tried WCPUID, but it reports an unknown CPUID and chipset!
Thanks in advance
Chez
