app to stream from nas

Hi

i am in need of an app to stream video from my Synology to an ipad. I have a Samsung tab that i use a file explorer and this lets me choose a player and just plays the everything.

I am looking for something similar if possible. I have tried the DS video Synology app but i cant get it to add my files at the Synology side and rather than mess with a working setup its easier to use a different app.

i don't mind paying a few quid but cheaper the better.

Need to be able to browse files and play mkv.

I tend to just use the DS file station app and point it to the live files on the drive. Its not ideal but it works for my ipad.

I use Infuse, plays anything I've thrown at it from my Netgear NAS.

I use file browser with you Qnap. I have AVPlayer HD also.
I just select the file and it asks if I want to stream to AVPlayer.

Works without any issues, File browser is £4.49 and a player is £2.29.

plex would be my choice, has a great interface as well. Can load the server onto some synology nas boxes as well
