Apparently, "Cat 10.2 and 10.3 will be total awesomeness..."

This peaked my interest (because there's no good games out just yet ) and AFAIK, he doesn't usually advertise drivers as being awesomeness :p

This would coincide with the supposed (if a little optimistic?) Fermi launch, and include the fabled 5000 series performance boost, perhaps?

I'm not holding out much hope; he forgot what year it is in the original tweet.

They've been saying this for ages, last time it was about Cat 9.12s.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just their idea of pre-fermi smack talk.

I hope so, all I want form them is the ability to have a 1360x768 res over VGA to my TV in Win7.. Its fine in XP, just cant do it in Win7.. really annoys me!! Max res in Win7 is 1280x1024.

Man im half asleep this morning, i clicked on the thread and thought "CAT 10.2? but we're only n CAT6!" in a world of my own in a land of network cables lol...must wake up

if this is meant to be true that these are the ones to unleash the power in there cards would that make the ATI 4850x2 a beater for the 9800ctx range or what ?

In the grand scheme of things describing a driver as "awesomeness" is hardly a hanging offence. Nvidia's CEO said they was about to open a can of "whoop ass" :p

I think the guy has been whatching this

Well we all know what that can of whoop ass turned out to be.

It was just a wet fart with a bit of follow-through.

There is an option in ccc to "support" unsupported resolutions (when it cant find your tv type for example) - I am at work at the moment so cant point to it directly, but Ihave exactly the same problem with both my tv and my monitor.

Will try and update later with where to clickedy click.

I really want decent custom resolution support, nvidia are so far ahead in this department. In nvidia drivers, it allows you to create custom resolutions and change the standard timings. Anyone who has used a low resolution on an LCD will know how blurry it is sometimes at certain refresh rates but by changing the timings you can fix that. And its all so easy and just works.

Whilst on ATI as far as I could see (and I have tried) you cant create a custom res, you can only add resolutions to the registry, and it sometimes just ignores the refresh rate you put down, and people say you have to get 3rd party software to do it properly; what a complete mess.

With the advent of 120Hz LCD monitors people have now seen how useful the nvidia custom resolution feature has been. They really need to make drivers that are on par with nvidia FIRST then think about ways to improve them and better the competition.

If it wasnt for the fact nvidia are using some stupidly confusing naming system and how they are a bit more expensive I would go back to them.
