I started my other pc today and the lights on the panel thing at the back stuck on the pattern that said "initialising floppy drive controller".

All i had done was open my case, and pushed the floppy drive back out because it wasnt flush with the front!

Iv tried all the connections and another drive.

Here is the description of the lights. Its about half way down the page and its the one where theres a black spot top right.

Its all well and good tellin u the problem but what do i do to solve it? maybe its sumthin simple i dont know!

Any suggestions?

this isnt quiet a solution, someone whos from the floppy troubleshoot days would know the answer im sure.

But if you disconnect floppy cable from drive & power cable; after shutdown. reboot, then see if it still asks.

If it doesnt and boots into widows... fine.
shutdown.
Carefully recconect the floppy power first then floppy cable from mboard -take note of what side up the floppy cable faces.power cable in with mains switch off.Make sure the floppy power is plugged in carefully.
Then main power on,
boot up, see if all returns to normal. If not chances are you might have to venture into the bios.Or floppy could be a gonner.they do that.

What do other users think.

ps currently both of my floppy drives dont work, and i dont know why.but floppys are troublesome things. i use usb keys. ;)
