unless you have an extremly large monitor whare the extra Graphics ram would come into play....

Only using a 22inch widescreen so 512 would probably suffice then?

If it's 1680x1050 then the 512 will just about be fine on the 4870, but I'm sure most people would agree that if you can then plump for the 1GB 4870 over the 4850.
