Appendectomy - how long in the hosp?

Anyone had one recently?

How long you have to stay in the hospital after you had it done?

Ahhh a little google, and I see your talking about having your appendix out.

I had mine out last April (the 1st no less), and I was in until Thursday morning (operation was Tuesday, in hospital Monday morning).

Appendicectomy if your in the UK.

Stay should be 3-7 days depending on how it goes. Im presuming this is laparoscopic surgery which means the stay should be shorter.

I was in for 2 nights (op Monday morning, back home Wednesday afternoon).

Was no to bad really - worst bit was that my mate bought me a copy of Viz, laughing really hurt...

Appendicectomy as someone has pointed out. Usual stay if there are no complications os between 1-3 days. It's not usually done laparoscopically either

I had mine out 12 years ago and I was admitted Friday morning and kicked out Monday morning after the nurses blagged all my chocolate.

I was out the very next day. Went for the op on a Thursday morning and was out by lunch time on the Friday. It was key hole surgery though, i think thats why my stay was so brief.
