It's US price is $999. Hopefully this will bring the u2711 down in price a little. It looks a bit sexy too![]()
Hopefully!
I was giving the apple some serious thought there, until I seen the response time was 12ms, which I suspect, wouldn't be ideal for gaming - though I am somewhat ignorant of monitor technologies.
.12ms is far quicker than your eye can see.
Most of this low ms lark is for marketing purposes only.
I am interested in a new monitor but I want LED and 24+ inches (current screen is 24 inch LCD).
I hope this screen will push the prices of others down a bit.

Wow, you guys are all getting trapped into marketing BS. These figures don't tell you nothing really, there are no guidelines as to how to measure response time. Is it average for that matter? G2G? 12ms IRL is fairly quick, not many TN panels advertised as 2/5ms can do it easily. Read up the reviews and cut the crap out.
BTW, I'm not saying that the monitor will perform great in gaming but it may and we shall see when it comes out.
Been looking at this monitor and realistically is going to cost in the region of around £800+,It's US price is $999. Hopefully this will bring the u2711 down in price a little. It looks a bit sexy too![]()
Yes I know that it would be a smaller display and visually (on the outside) not as good looking but once calibrated would be a far superior quality.

Whilst I can see your point, if there aren't any standards, then there's no reason why anyone shouldn't be able to just advertise as a 2ms all the time then, and not lose out to the "ignorant" market.
12ms is NOT fast enough that the eye can notice any difference, that part is a load of rubbish.
Unfortunately when we're buying online, we don't get the advantage of seeing two monitors next to each other and therefore base our decisions on other customer reviews who've taken the plunge.
Measuring response times in different ways and lying are not the same thing.
