Has anyone ordered anything through Apple using the university academic discount recently? I am curious on what level of discount I would get on a 13" Macbook.

Ah rite, even better.
Another macbook question but on a slightly different note, Apple are charging
£100 to upgrade from 2gb -> 4gb memory. Is this easily done if I buy the memory myself? Same question with hard drive upgrade? The alu iMac was very simple.

Get the memory yourself from OcUK. It's easy to swap out both the memory and HDD, they essentially slot in near the battery.

If you buy using the HE discount it's actually cheaper to upgrade from 2GB - 4GB through Apple (£85.78) than if you buy at a later point from somewhere like Crucial (£104).

For the Hard Drive it's cheaper to buy separate and fit it yourself.

Cool, really tempted with this. I recently bought an iMac and instantly fell in love with everything about it from never using a mac before. Its amazing how high the quality of the apple products is, I have been very plesently suprised.

4gb ddr3 can be had for $98 and thats with shipping, shame the dollar is high at the moment!

The state of affairs is rather terrible at the minute. I am travelling through Paris Charles de Gaule airport on Wednesday so I will compare prices, the way things are, I'm not holding my breath though.
