I thought I would post this here rather than the networking area as I might get more help from other people with airports rather than be told to get a non apple product!
I have a v1 express (newest firmware) and it's running in 2.4ghz n only mode as I have nothing that uses wireless g any more. I'm getting very poor speeds which are inconsistent and go up and down all the time and even at there best are way below what I should be getting using wireless n. Some days my download can be below 1mb but the up will be about 16 and other better days it will manage 18 down and 16 up. I'm on fibre so I can get about 70 down and 17 up over wired. Speeds are tested using the speedest.net app using HTC one X, iPad 3rd gen and iPod touch 5th gen
I'm on a clear wifi channel (checked using wifi analyser) as that was my first thought as to the possible cause.
What speeds do other people get out of their express? Has anyone got any suggestions other than turn it off and on and do a factory re-set which I have tried several times. Also its worth noting that it runs quite hot? Is that normal?
