Apple Annoucement Tomorrow: New Ipod? Right time to buy Futures?

So Apple press conference is tomorrow and it seems like they will be annoucing the new Ipod abd Ipod Nano. Is anyone considering buying futures in Apple?

On Aug 16 they were trading @ $117, they've been as high just recently as $144!! somebody somewhere has made a very tasty profit in < month!

I want to buy stocks but can't find any place that does them

All the broker sites I've found look VERY shady.

You can buy stock through most high street banks

Good thing you didnt buy any futures! Futures being futures might well stay rather stagnant even drop following that announcement, I suppose expectations were too high.

you mean shorting - yep that would have been a good option.

Indeed, future+sell = shorting. Of course, there's other ways of shorting too (forwards, options, etc.)

I was just clarifying to the other people in the thread what you meant by "shorting", as I didn't mention specifically future+sell, I mentioned both sell AND buy, and of course future+buy = "going long" rather than "shorting".
