Very quick question for you guys.......

Does anyone know what the apple business discount is, and what products its available on?

Thanks

The Apple Employee Purchase Plan (EPP)? [not employees of Apple that is]
If so then:
Discounts of up to 17% on standard products from the Apple Store. Discounts do vary depending on product range.

Other benefits:
Free standard shipping on orders over £78
Free engraving on iPod

If that's not what you meant...nm!

I was faced with this, avoid apple directly! Go to resellers, get some quotes and compare, i made huge savings like i think the most discount we got was like 600 quid off the mac pros, but software we got loads knocked off.

Just out of interest what resellers did you look at? Can you email me them if they are competitors of OCUK?

The EPP is for Apple Employees. The 17% discount is their friends and family so if you don't know an employee you can't get it.

There's a list of companies that employees of can get discounts as well but it's not that high. Worth doing though. This is the Corporate EPP but it's not even approaching 17%, nowhere near. 6-8% from memory on Macs.

Your best bet as said is premium resellers, they'll be able to beat Apple's prices for a business. Especially if it's a big sale.

The EPP is not just for Apple Employees. I work for a county Council and we are eligable to get these also through our employee benefits scheme.

As I said that's the Corporate EPP - if your firm has its own one that's a different story and the percentages can be better - it's through your work, you can't walk into a store and get it.

Going into the store, there's the Corporate EPP and that is around 6-8%.

If anything on the Corporate EPP is at 17% it won't be machines, if you ask in the store somene would be able to tell you the rates.

That is unless they've upped it considerably recently.

My prices as quoted above are through corporate and it's advertised as up to 17%. So as you can see from my prices above, you are correct!

And I guess you don't need to pay the VAT on the purchase so all good and you'll depreciate the hardwre too thereby making the tco much lower than retail cost.

You pay the VAT upon purchase, but it comes back through the business via claiming.

Yes, but I am just pointing out that you still have to part with the money for the VAT at the checkout before it's claimed back :(
