Hi I brought an android screen for my Mercedes c class, but when I ask Siri to send a text it don’t talk. On another screen I had Siri to send Tom a text and it will say what do I wanna tell Tom and repeat the text before it sends it. Can anyone help?

indeed and just to spell it out

Apple Car play is for apple products such as iPhones.
Siri is for Apple.

Android has Android Auto. if your mercedes supports apple car play there is a fair chance it will support android auto as well but you are going to have to Google that for yourself.

once you add your android phone to your car, android auto should work seamlessly, mine auto connects wirelessly when my phone is near the car. yours may be wired or wireless again you need to Google it to find out

apple car play and android auto are functionally similar but are competing products

a bit like betamax and VHS
or HDDVD and Blu ray

work out which you want to use and stick with that.

I think he means he bought one of those Android-based screens that you can buy that do both CarPlay and Android Auto. I had one in my S2000. In fact, I tried many of them before I found one that was reliable.

1. ditch the android screen.
2. Mount your phone with a car mount (i suggest brodit)
3. just use your phone the same way you intended to use the android screen.
4. ??????
5. Profit!!!

Both of them are pretty buggy even on the expensive systems. AA especially just likes to randomly just not work properly or disconnect.

Really? I've never had an issue with either technology. Which cars did you have where it was an issue?

I’ve used many cheap android head units for CarPlay. They’ve all been pretty faultless. Even the £22 one I bought for a temporary use worked brilliantly.

Android Auto is hot garbage, Google is incapable of making its products interop. Main reason I switched to Apple earlier this year. CarPlay and Siri are light years ahead of Google’s mess.
