Hi folks

I was wondering what the consensus was on Apple Care plus? £119 seems alright for two years cover but is it worth the extra if you have contents insurance that covers phone?

Seeing as it is two years, does it have to be purchased within a certain time frame of you having the phone?

Any experience you have had will be invaluable

merry Christmas :D

I think it has to be purchased within the first year of the warranty period? May have changed though since the introduction of Apple Care+.

The two years cover is from the start of the original warranty period.

As for the value, depends on the excess and possible bump in contents insurance. Remember you have to pay an excess fee to apple as well for physical damage with applecare+, £25 for screen damage and £79 for any other damage.

The limit is within 60 days of purchase. Unless you added AppleCare+ at the point of purchase, you have to take in the phone for inspection before they let you buy it (in case you try to buy cover for an already broken phone). All the details are on Apple's site here. I didn't bother in the end, as I'm on a 12 month upgrade plan - making 2 year cover irrelevant - and my bank already insures theft/loss/damage, whereas Apple only cover damage.

Hang on, you get a year service free, so the second year costs 130, but you also pay 80 if there is damage?
210 for the second year damage insurance?
