Apple care (for iPod) worth it?

Hi guys. Just wondered what your thoughts are on Apple care. Is it worth buying?

I currently have a 20gig iPod (4g). Had it 2yrs and its battery now lasts only a hour or so when fully charged :rolleyes:

I'm likely to upgrade soon, taking advantage of the £100 rebate when purchasing a Mac. Is paying £30 or so (with HE discount) worth it to extend its warranty to 2yrs?

if you've had it 2 years, thn wouldn't the extended warranty be no longer valid?

Probably better to replace the battery yourself, comes in at about £20, and is dead easy to do.

sorry, i meant is it worth buying for the new iPod?

thought it cost £50 or so to replace the battery? how do u do it for 20?

you buy the battery yourself and fit it yourself. if its already out of warranty, it'll save you both time and money.

I replaced my 3G's battery for £12, not that hard to do, look on auction sites etc.

any flat headed screwdriver will do, at least for the 3G and 4G ipods.

haven't tried opening my ipod video yet, as its still in warranty

i've been trying to push down on the front to hear a click, but can't for the life of me do it!
