I somehow got the wrong end of the stick when buying this with my iPhone. I was under the impression that if you paid for this and you had a problem down the line, they would send out a replacement iPhone to you and you send your faulty one to them afterwards.

Does apple not offer some sort of 'premium' warranty service which does do the above? The chap on the phone was trying to get me to go to an apple store (lol) or post my iPhone to be repaired (more lol.)

I am sure they must offer some sort of service where you aren't without a phone for any period of time?

Why didn't you just take it into an Apple Store as recommended? Every time I've had a problem with an Apple product and taken it to a store, I've walked away with a functioning device.

Eh?

What's the problem with going to an Apple Store. When my iPhone 6 Plus developed a fault they swapped it there on the spot. What's the problem with that? Seems like a pretty good service to me.

The Apple Care Plus covers you for an extra 2 years over the initial 1 year.

Seems like you have more money than sense if you bought it without reading about it and then buying an entire new phone for a fault that would have been fixed with the extended warranty you bought...how odd...

It's not too bad as once the OP the replacement from Apple, he can sell it along with the extended warranty or palm it off onto family etc - job done.

Their genius appointments didn't sync with my availability.

Hence me trying to arrange it via a post system. There's nothing wrong paying not to have downtime.. in your scenario I would have to get to an apple store and hope it is fixed there and then..

To be fair I did move from a 6 to a 6s.

This is what I thought. I didn't have apple care plus but rang them and paid £30 and they sent a new phone out to swap
