I'm curious what people think of this? I've been thinking of getting Logic Pro for awhile now and $13 a month is easier to stomach than £200 on something I'm not even sure I would use. Plus I have no use for the other apps in the bundle.

I guess it makes it more accessible to the majority, but it's another set of software that's looking like it's subscription instead of just buy and own.

What the?

The version of Pages and Numbers (and presumably Keynote) that comes with new Macs are now end of life, there are new versions which you have to pay for that are part of this bundle.

Apple fully embracing the SaaS subscription model, they'll make a fair whack on Keynote I suspect. Wouldn't surprise me if in a few years we see the re-introduction of charging for the OS. I guarantee you that probably pops up every single time you use them too.

Nope, just the first time. I use both Pages and Numbers a lot so I'd notice.

I've read a few 'articles' that say otherwise - but I don't use the products so doesn't actually affect me, and I say articles in the loosest terms of journalism. I think bundling these in with the other apps is a mistake though. But i'm personally not a fan of any of the software decisions over the last 12 months.

Mine started doing it once a day until I threw these commands at the terminal. :km:

defaults write com.apple.iWork.Pages TSADisableUpdateNotifications -bool yes
defaults write com.apple.iWork.Keynote TSADisableUpdateNotifications -bool yes
defaults write com.apple.iWork.Numbers TSADisableUpdateNotifications -bool yes

Surely you can just download the new versions and you’d still get all the features you currently do if you don’t have a subscription and would still get bug fixes and compatibility updates, rather than stay on versions that will no longer receive updates?

I've had an email today offering me a three month trial of Creator Studio, I'm just not sure what I'd do with it though as it's a rather on-demand set of applications.
