Apple delivery times?

My iMac shipped last Sat, and they are telling me its gonna be the 30th before it arrives?!

What the hell is with that? :confused:

They come from all over the place, and go by ground, so sometimes they take a little while. It's mostly CTOs that take longer.

This is following a rather disasterious order with them, hasnt been the best first experience with them lol.

Sounds like its coming from china, my ipod took 5 days from china. It spend 4 of those 5 days doing a road trip around europe.

It shows they do vary. I bought an iPod for my girlfriend and ordered it at around 16:00 and it arrived the next day (I think - could have been the day after), either way I remember being seriously impressed because it had been engraved too!

CTO are custom orders, did you change anything on the machine or is it a stock configuration?

Yes I upgraded the HDD (500GB) and opted for the 800GS card, does that seriously affect the delivery times? I know it took 3 days to put together, but a delivery time of OVER 10 days?...I mean really?

Usually takes two weeks from ordering to delivering.

It's just that standard configurations tend to be shipped from Ireland, and CTOs come from China. Mine, apparently, came from Prague :/

Not really. It means that standard models can get shipped out quick sharp, and you only have to wait for non-standard Macs. It's a pain having to wait, but it's free, and if you want a CTO it's the only way. Mine took just over a week, it was hellish! The UPS site lets you track in way too much detail, I was checking it about ten times a day

DO you have a link to the UPS site? Apple sent me a code, like about an 8 digit number.

When I search for UPS i dont relly get a site helping me track, or a site that accpets my number.

UPS doesnt recognise the number

the K&N link on the site they say they have had to close their tracking down, so cant use it.

Tired on the other links but all of them say the number isnt theirs.

SO now its saying

In Transit to Customer - Shipment Delayed

Anyone know just what thats meant to mean!?

It has sat in the TNT Northhampton hub for about 3 days goiing nowhere!!!
