Apple digital AV adapter

Apple digital AV adapter. Tempted in to purchasing one of these as I have an iPad mini with Air Video loaded with films - I'd like to know if these adapters support sound across most HDMI supported Iiyama Prolite monitors? If I get the go ahead it should save me a few bob

I've used them to drive large Iiyama ProLite displays before now and they work exactly as you would expect.

I'm in the market for one of these to output my ipad to TV to play all the cartoons etc my son has on his pad. Are 3rd party ones as good as the £35 apple want for their own?

The Apple ones aren't particularly well made, they're just average. I would say a third party alternative is worth a punt. If it doesn't work as advertised just return it.
