Apple dock remote - What does the menu button for?

I put my ipod to the universal dock but for some reason the menu button doesn't do anything, looked in the manual it says "for other products". What other products???????

Pretty sucky that I can't go back to the menu, or use the remote to select different albums in the menu.

You can't go into the menus with the Apple remote. It's only used for play, pause, forward and backwards when playing music.

Menu button is used with Front Row on Mac.

Pretty pointless for the iPod

That's what i fear, I thought it was broke or something. I wanted it to do the same function as the menu button on the ipod itself, not too much to ask is it?
