Hi,

I am trying to set up an email address to send emails from but not recieve to. I can do this in send and receive groups in outlook by unticking the receive mail option in account settings.

How does this work in mac mail.

thanks

Configure a send server, then purposely fudge the incoming address?

I think Mail needs one account fully setup to work. After that you can just add more outgoing servers if you so wish.

I think he wants to send email with a from address but not receive email to it, not just set up a different SMTP server. Sounds really odd.

There's lots of reasons why you might want to do this. All those no-reply@ email addresses are for this. Mailing lists, order confirmations and so on.

I think the way I suggested will be the cleanest to not have any emails come in so you don't have to go through and delete them all. They'll all just not turn up.
