*****Apple Fall Event 22nd Oct*****

We don't know for sure that their specs are the same yet.

Yes, they both have the same resolutions screens and an A7 processor but beyond that there are questions. The processor may be clocked differently in each model and the memory may differ too. We'll need to wait until the full specs are determined.

I want to know if the RAM's been bumped up too in the iPads.

Surprised that Mavericks was free but its a nice touch. Lots of nice little upgrades and I am looking forward to testing the power saving features.

It's really a net based cloud computing device... Who cares. Seriously you only need 16GB VERSION

I care.. I have a 32Gb Mini and would greatly benefit from more storage. I use the device exclusively when travelling for watching movies etc etc - being able to store more video would be of great benefit.

But not of enough benefit to spend $300 more on flash memory :p

The Mini 2 looks like everything the original Mini should have been.

If I hardly ever use my ipad outside of the house, could I get away with a 16GB one?

All my music and vids are on my PC. Pretty much only interested in apps.

Easy to stream?

what made you go for that for uni? im thinking about 13inch RMBP as an upgrade to MBA

Which MBA are we talking? And what about usage?

As far as I see it, if you need a faster machine with more RAM and battery life isn't a priority, go for the rMBP. If you prioritise battery life and find that the rMBP at scaled resolutions is difficult to look at (I fall under this category), go for the Air.

Boiling it down further, battery life is the main differentiator. We're looking at 50% better battery life with the MBA, which is fairly significant. But again, usage is key here.

Despite being a bit of an Apple 'fanboy' as people like to call it, I don't frequent the Apple forums much. Just popped in to say I spent nearly two hours upgrading to Mavericks and have seen absolutely no difference over previous version...

Anything I should be looking out for?!

Depends on what you do, and need.

I find the improved OpenCL, and OpenGl support vital, and it's memory management has been rather useful as well.
Overall it's, smaller, and faster then previous OS X versions.

I can't speak for battery life, and all that I use Mac Pro.

Just found out you don't even get a keyboard or mouse with the Mac Pro, yet with the iMac you do!

They're expecting anyone to shell out over 3-8k on a computer to not be stingy, and buy one. hahaha :(

The previous generation always came with a keyboard and mouse, you were able to change the spec though depending on whether you wanted wired or wireless.

Does seem strange that they have increased the price and created a Pro machine that arguably will be used by individuals than professionals in office/studio environments.

So I guess its just another thing to make some extra money on.

Ayayay... prices of second hand Mac Pros will go through the roof after tonight.

Somehow I still thought they would see the light and leave the proper editing Mac Pro with internal storage in the lineup as Mac Pro Classic or something. This iBin will be decimation of OSX video and audio market. And there is absolutely nothing to pick up the pieces.
