I'm giving my mum an old iPhone to use and I want to know whether I have to set up a separate Apple ID for her to use the phone with or can I have a separate account in my Apple ID for her? I guess this wouldn't work well as any photos she takes will be synced to my iCloud?

Do I need to register a Credit Card with an Apple ID if she's only going to use free Apps?

Cheers!

1) setting up her own iCloud account is by far the easiest way, as this will sync all her data such as documents, messages, email, calendar, notes etc. separate from your own.

2) you don't need a payment method setup for an iTunes account if you are only "buying" free apps

My mum has my old 4, and she only texts and occasionally calls. I've installed Angry Birds, but she just never uses it.

She does find her basic uses easier with it than other phones though :p

No worries.

It's an uphill struggle, believe me. My mum has an iPhone 5 and she still uses a post-it and pen to do grocery shopping when she's out!

I still do, tried quite a few shopping apps but none seem to get it as a smple pen and paper.
