Apple id ????

Looking for some info on this please guys, i bought my first mac last year (imac) and i set up the apple id as an old hotmail account not thinking much of it, roll on a couple more apple purchase (MBP and iphone) and the apple id is still on the hotmail account,

i set up a mobileme account with the intention of dumping the hotmail account and all my other email accounts and swapping to the me.com, because both the hotmail and me.com are apple ids it would seem i cant change them over on my own or can i ???? looked about on the net abit and a lot of people have had this problem but no solution am i going to have to phone apple up to see what they say

Your Apple ID (when you made a free account) is not tied to the MobileMe one.

I have 2 Apple IDs, both called "dlorey". To sign in on Apple.com with my "paid" one, I simply make sure I type the full email, and it works.

IIRC you can get Apple to delete the free ID, but considering the hassle it's better to leave it and not use it.
