I walked into the apple store yesterday and was told that the iphone 4 dock is the dock I should get for the 4s.

I've never had an iPhone before so I don't know whether this should be the case but the dock is far more fiddly than it should be. The phone feels tight going in and I have to hold the base to get the phone out again.

Is this how it should be and is something I have to deal with?

(I was expecting it to be more like blackberry docks)

Yeah that sounds fine. Bear in mind that some docks use 'contact points' which the phone just rests on, whilst the iPhone has a connector which goes into the socket on the phone, thus it'll need a bit of a shove to connect and disconnect.

Well if it was loose enough a connection that you could just lift the phone off the dock with one hand, then cables plugged into the connector would keep falling out.

Definitely. An you can still remove it with one hand.. hold the phone with 2/3 fingers and then push down on the dock with pinky/ring finger.

Sounds a bit fiddly yes, but easy enough to get the hang of if your other hand is........busy ;)
