Hi guys.

Sorry, I am not too sure where to put this topic in the forum, so thought this would be a good place.

I have an Apple Ipod Min (4GB). Which has been working fine, until now. I last used it a day or two ago and tried turning it on today. With no luck, it doesn't turn on. So, thinking it might just be flat, I plugged in the USB cable and a few seconds later a message pops up in Windows Vista saying USB Device not known. (Not regonised). So, in case it was just Vista playing up, I restarted the PC and booted into Windows XP Professional.

Still no go. Nothing happens on the ipod, no lights, nothing.

Is there anything I can do? Is it dead? :( Could it just be a USB cable fault?

Any advice would be great, thanks

(P.S if this is in wrong section, please move)

Mine did this a while back it was just that the the battery so too drained. A couple of hours with a mains charger sorted it

I don't have a mains charger. :(

Would leaving it plugged into the PC all night help?

But battery was fine a few days ago..I think..:(

Nevermind, all working again.

A simple reset did the trick. (I was using the wrong buttons, so check Apple's web site and now all good again!:D) odd though..

That's happened to me a few times as well and I don't know why

To reset your iPod nano:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

* Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

* If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
