Admittedly apple has lost the surprise factor it used to enjoy, the bit in keynotes where Steve Jobs suddenly pulled some unknown device out of his pocket and announced it would available in apple stores by the end of the keynote.
On the other hand, at the same time you had those irritating Wall Street "Apple Insiders" who would turn round a few months before because no one had a clue what was coming and say how apple was bringing out a new mobile device that produced gold as a bi-product and a new desktop that would cook you breakfast, go to work for you and solve world hunger on sundays and an iphone thaht would actually make you money. Then when apple actually brought out something like an ipod with bigger capacity or a more mobile laptop and a bigger screened phone, their stocks plummeted.
I'd say whatever they've lost one place, they've gained elsewhere.
